The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine in conjunction with the Muscatine Health Support Fund is leading a $14 million project to build a new, three floor, 42,000 square foot, health clinic facility that is operated by UnityPoint Health and connected to the UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine Hospital.
Health has been identified as a priority of the Community Foundation and improving access to health care has been recognized as both a need and a priority of our community and County as a whole.
Mulberry Health Clinic Project Goals:
- Maintain a safe facility for health care professionals to practice and patients to receive their care.
- Improve the ability to recruit and retain health care professionals to our rural community.
- Ensure continued local presence of quality primary health care.
The necessary funding will be derived from a philanthropic campaign primarily directed at targeted local businesses, industries, and community members that is being matched up to $4 million from Kent Corporation, in additional to the funding commitments already received in support of the project.
We are anticipating an 18-month construction period with project completion in October 2023. The structure of the project allows for continued operation of the current clinic while construction of the new facility occurs.
