Grants Programs
Money is granted annually for different charitable causes, projects and programs through our County Endowment Re-granting Program, Muscatine Health Support and the component funds established by individuals, organizations, businesses and bequests.
Our new online, easy application has made granting readily available and within our community’s grasp.
Scholarship Opportunities
Among the Community Foundation’s growing scholarship funds and services, our latest addition to programs offered and facilitated is through our stewardship of the Muscatine Community School District Foundation’s scholarship program. With this partnership, we are able to mainstream the scholarship process online while working with Muscatine High School and a robust team of reviewers to give more than $400,000 in scholarships every year to the youth in our community.
Scholarships are also available throughout Muscatine County. See our Scholarships page.
Free Supplies for Nonprofits
Thousands of dollars in supplies benefit more than 30 nonprofit groups throughout the year. As a member of a national resource exchange program, we distribute truckloads of supplies free of charge. This helps nonprofits lower their cost of operations while better serving clients.
Dental Services for Underserved
Needy Muscatine County residents receive dental care through a continuing partnership with Dr. Nathan Olson, Delta Dental of Iowa and the Community Foundation. The FIND project recruits dentists to rural communities bringing dental services to the elderly, at risk and underserved. New to the FIND program, Dr. Jarod Johnson, has also partnered with Delta Dental of Iowa and the Community Foundation. Together they are continuing to provide dental care for underserved patients with an emphasis in serving at-risk youth.
Great Initiatives Award, Tom Hendricks Community Service Award and Youth Initiative Award
We love shining a light on the charitable initiatives in our communities. Two awards are bestowed on exceptional citizens who are the spark behind important, lasting initiatives. The Great and Youth Initiative Awards and Tom Hendricks Community Service Award encourage volunteerism and recognize those who are that special driving force in charitable projects and programs.
Youth Engaged in Service (YES) Grants
Let’s say YES to young people who want to make their communities better places to work, play and live through community service projects. This grants program is reserved only for youth up to 20 years of age. Youth must be the driving force in the project and other young people must help implement the project as volunteers. To find out more, please contact the Community Foundation’s office.

People Who Care
Matching people who care with causes that matter is at the heart of donor advised funds. The Community Foundation will be your partner guiding and assisting you with all your charitable goals. You get the joy of granting and special tax advantages, but none of the work, follow-up or responsibilities. Those are handled by the Community Foundation. You can create a donor advised fund with as little as $10,000 or get started for only $1,000.
Serving as a Charitable Partner

The Community Foundation serves as your forever partner awarding annual grants per your wishes of up to 5% of the balance*and growing the corpus of the fund through prudent investments even after you’re gone. However, you enjoy the Endow Iowa tax credit.
